Never give up

Note for the guys of DPS: I hope you won't mind I'll take some phrases of an article you published some weeks ago (referenced at the end of this post)

Y ahora sigo en castellano...

Últimamente me encuentro escribiendo obras derivadas y comentarios a grandes descubrimientos... bien, que conste que esto no trata de ser un intento para publicar más y pretendo seguir en la linea habitual: pocos escritos, que sean míos... aún y así, últimamente me encuentro joyas de otras disciplinas de las que mucho se puede extraer...

Bajo este título me encuentro uno de esos posts (para más inri, consultad las referencias) que hacen historia, unos de esos escritos que todos necesitamos leer cada cierto tiempo y que, pese a estar enfocado (y nunca mejor dicho) en el mundo de la fotografía, es extrapolable al día a día de cualquier persona, en cualquier contexto...

Para demostrar esto, voy a sacar deliveradamente ciertas frases de contexto (los corchetes son míos), quizá a algun@ le parezca filosofía barata de tapa de yogur, pero creo que todos tenemos momentos en los que conviene que alguien nos lo recuerde (ojo barro, en inglés... sorry!):

- "(...) sometimes a harsh ciritic comes in and it is just too much. But [sometimes] they have the feeling, that they’d never to arrive there, because there is always someone who isn’t satisfied with their work - sometimes it’s even themselves"

- "Even if you think that you’re the only one that feels how you feel - which is true to some extent - because nobody feels like you I can promise you: There are more despearate people out there than you think. Only the few dare to openly talk about it, because they are afraid of being laughed at. (...) You are not alone."

- "In hard times I have had the best experiences with (...) friends (that i trust) when i shared my problems in photography openly and honestly"

- "But this must be clear: Mistakes are okay. (...) in life there is no delete - because mistakes happen and they are okay"

- "In the first moments when we get harsh and fierce words about our shots we tend to react emotionally (that is one of my big weaknesses). So better wait an hour or two. When the first frustration is over, think about the words again."

- "Stay the course. Stick to your plan and continue (...). With this dedication you can’t be beaten. You can do it."

- "Slowly is better than never."

- "In order to learn from mistakes, you need to know them. But the good (...) [whatever] must be celebrated big time. These are those which encourage you."

Por ello, sólo quiero trasladar estos pensamientos a todos aquellos que ahora se puedan sentir desanimados, sea la razón que sea... y en especial y como no podía ser de otra manera :-p a todos aquellos que o bien empiezan en el mundo de lo social o bien llevan ya largo y tendido inmersos en él... porque las fuerzas fallan cuando parece que te das de cabezazos contra una pared, porque a veces la realidad se nos cae encima cuando estamos inmersos en ella o símplemente, porque las fuerzas flaquean cuando te dejas la piel (y a veces algo más) por el camino...

A ellos, y en especial a ti que has llegado hasta aquí, os digo:

"Never give up. Never."
